“And I command you today: Love GOD, your God. Walk in his ways. Keep his commandments, regulations, and rules so that you will live, really live, live exuberantly, blessed by GOD, your God, in the land you are about to enter and possess.” -‭ Deuteronomy‬ ‭30:16‬ ‭MSG‬‬

God’s rules RELEASE us from the bondage of sin. In the Old Testament we find the Israelites being told to walk in God’s ways. Moses was reminding them of the choice they had to make. He goes on to tell them that if they chose to ignore God then they shouldn’t even worry about possessing the land that God promised because they won’t even last. If you want what God promised, it comes through obeying His word. We don’t obey His word because it’s just “the right thing to do”. You won’t last doing it that way. We do what God says because it’s our pleasure to be led by someone who loves us unconditionally. God’s word never fails. However, people’s words do. God doesn’t do empty promises. He doesn’t take back what He says. He is a God of fulfillment.

So if you want a life that is amazing, it can only be found in God. You want to be blessed? Realize that blessings only come from God. You can only obtain them IN GOD. There is no way to go around His Word and still get what He promised. He protects His children from the evil hand of the enemy. The weapons may form but they won’t prosper because when you’re walking in the will of God, His hands are protecting you at every step. So don’t be afraid because you are blessed by God in every way. Just keep on walking according to God’s Word. There are people who talk about God’s Word but their lives reveal brokenness and despair because the blessing is tied to our obedience. So don’t pay attention or get distracted by people who appear to have all of these blessings but don’t walk according to God’s word. Don’t get jealous. Don’t breed discontentment. Pray for them and love on them and focus on your own life. Focus on what God is doing in your life and where He is trying to take you (not someone else). Love on God and let Him love on you!
